Our 2021 Resolutions

It is finally here! The devils year, 2020 is over! I love the new year because it is a time for fresh starts and new beginnings. I actually started this blog this time last year. I am here to tell you that we have grown so much. We have made 4 Real Estate deals, with 3 rental properties. I've been able to do some fun design projects and grow my business. We have grown here on the blog too. So many good things happened in 2020 despite the challenges.

This year we have some "resolutions" but they are more like condensed resolutions. Brady's resolution is to get 12 Real Estate deals in 3 months. That could be wholesaling, flipping or getting a rental property. After 3 months we will look at where we are at and adjust as we need to.

My resolution is to have a year of creating good habits. Every year, I set a resolution, stick to it really well for a couple days and then reality hits again and I am back to work or school. Then, at the end of the year, I remember my resolution and try to achieve my goals and it is pointless. That is why I want to have a year of setting good habits. It takes 21 days to make a habit. So, each month, I will start making a new habit. I bought this planner and wrote down my plan for that month and the goals that I want to accomplish. For January, I want to be better about taking care of my body. This means, drinking more water, taking my vitamins daily, exercising 5 times a week and taking better care of my skin. I have made S.M.A.R.T. goals and have a plan to make creating this habit successful. Once I have created these habits, then I can add to it the next month.

Now, none of these resolutions will be successful without a plan. One thing that Brady and I have been doing is each Sunday we have a planning meeting. We sit together and talk about our goals for the week. We share things that we have accomplished and what we want to accomplish the next week. We talk about how we can help each other. We keep each other accountable and that is probably the most important thing. You can talk the talk all day long but when you start to walk the walk, that is when you will see progress.
